“What’s happening?” Rory shouts over the ominous creaking and groaning sounds.
 

“Slight miscalculation,” the Doctor replies, racing around the central console. “Got a bit too close to the event horizon of a newly formed black hole.”

 
“We’ll be okay though, won’t we? I mean, we’re in the TARDIS, so even if we get sucked in it won’t harm us. Right? The TARDIS can withstand anything.” Rory’s confidence is flattering but misguided.

 
“It would be like going over Niagara Falls in a barrel, only worse,” the Doctor explains, diverting more power to the TARDIS’s engines. “Not something I want to experience.”

I'm sure he will, and the TARDIS will assist. She doesn't want to be sucked into a black hole any more than the Doctor does.
