Summary: The Doctor has offered to take Ianto and Jack on a trip into history, but where to choose?
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.
Jack knew earth history, had even lived, and repeatedly died, through several significant eras, most notably the world wars. There’d been several of him in various places during the second war, which had made life a little tricky, trying to avoid running into other versions of himself.
He didn’t know everything though, and he certainly hadn’t seen everything, even if he’d been telling the truth about visiting the end of the dinosaur era. Dinosaur meat wasn’t bad.
“So, you can go anywhere and anywhen, any period of earth’s history, where would you like to go?” Jack leaned against the console in the Doctor’s TARDIS, grinning at his lover. “One trip into history, one trip into space, see anything you want to see, your choice.”
Ianto considered the question. “Anywhere at all?”
“Yes. Well, preferably not the Black Death, or a major cataclysmic event, but anywhere within reason,” the Doctor replied.
“In that case, I’d like to visit the Library of Alexandria, at its height.”
Jack sighed. “This is what I get for dating an archivist. He can visit the wonders of the ancient world, and he wants to go to a library.”
“Alexandria IS one of the ancient world’s wonders.”
