“Why d’you have a bicycle pump as part of the TARDIS controls?” It was a question Donna had been dying to ask for weeks, but she’d never found the right time. Now here they were, adrift while the Doctor was busy carrying out some minor repairs, and it seemed the ideal moment to satisfy her curiosity.
“What?” Hair mussed, the Doctor poked his head out from beneath the console.
“The bicycle pump; what’s it for?”
“Oh, I use that to inflate the temporal helix. There’s a leak somewhere, but I can’t find it, so I added the pump. Works perfectly.”
