A/N: Drabble and a half, 150 words.
Frowning, Bikky watched Ryo fixing his packed lunch. “Carol’s aunt always cuts the crusts off her sandwiches,” he pointed out.
“I’ve never understood why anyone would do that,” Ryo admitted, frowning as well. “With sliced bread the crusts are soft anyway, and with the kinds of bread we eat, the crusts are the best part. They have the most flavor.”
Bikky considered that. “Maybe Carol’s aunt wants to keep the best bits for herself to eat.”
“If that’s the case, it’s a bit greedy.”
“Yeah, I suppose.”
“You’re not going to start wanting the crusts cut off yours, are you? Because I’m not wasting good bread.”
“No, I like crusts, they keep my sandwich from falling apart when I’m eating it. Then when I’ve finished the rest, I eat the crust part.”
“I’m glad you have your priorities right.” Ryo grinned at his foster son. “Saving the best for last.”
