Cross Stitch: Seashells

Still way behind with posting my stitching to my journals, I need to check what I have posted and what I haven't, but here's a set of six seashell designs I finished a few weeks ago. They're stitched on 18 count with one strand of thread.

Thank you! They turned out well, although if I stitched any of them again I think I'd do the backstitch in a dark brown rather than black. The black is a bit overpowering.

OOoh! Pretty! Did you block them yourself? What will you do with them? Hopefully something better than storing them as is in a drawer or closet the way I've done with most of my cross-stitch and embroidery projects.

I don't usually need to block, I cut the fabric the size I need and make sure it's flat to start with, then roll it if necessary while I'm stitching. These will go in my stash of finished pieces to be used as greetings cards. When a birthday is coming up, I pick a design, make it into a card tailored to the recipient, and they're usually appreciated. Sometimes I'll stitch a piece specifically for someone, but mostly I like to have a variety to choose from, so I'm not trying to do something last minute.
