A/N: For the prompt ‘Burn’, one of the prompts I didn’t get around to using for tw100’s challenge 292: Billboard Hot 100 last year. I’ve dug them out again to supplement the prompts I got from my f-list, just because there are still loads I wanted to use.

Title: A Hero's Return
Author: [personal profile] badly_knitted
Characters/Pairings: Jack/Ianto, Gwen, Martha, Mickey and the Doctor mentioned
Spoilers: Exit Wounds, Doctor Who Journey’s End
Rating: G
Word Count: 1545
Summary: Jack returns to Cardiff after helping the Doctor.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood or any of the characters, it all belongs to the BBC
A/N: This is the first fanfic I ever started to write, and the closest to writing canon as I‘m ever likely to get! Shortly after Journey’s End first aired, I read a fic over on which inspired me to try my hand at writing. Unfortunately, it was so long ago that I can’t remember the author or the title, so I can’t give them the credit due for inspiring this, as I’d planned to.
It sat on my hard drive for a long time, unfinished, after I realised I’d mucked up my tenses; hopefully I’ve managed to straighten them out, but please let me know if you notice any mistakes!
