Summary: Even though JJ no longer pines after Dee, they’ve known each other a long time and he still considers his old crush a friend.

There’d been a time when JJ had hung on every word that fell from Dee’s lips, practically swooning with joy whenever the love of his life deigned to speak to him, but that had been long ago, almost… ten years? Could it really be that long? How time flew!


Nowadays, JJ knew Dee had never been the love of his life at all, just a childish infatuation, and hanging on his every word was a thing of the past.


“You’re such an idiot, Dee!”


“Oh, thanks! Some friend you are!”


“If I wasn’t your friend I wouldn’t be so blunt, but you’re being an idiot and as your friend, it’s up to me to tell you so. Ryo’s your partner, in every respect, and he loves you. He’s not cheating on you with Rose or anyone else. And if you truly believe he ever would then you don’t deserve him.”


“Then why does he keep disappearing into Rose’s office?”


“Because Diana is his best friend and he’s helping Berkie plan a surprise for her birthday.”


“If that’s true, why didn’t Ryo just tell me?”


“Did you ask him?”


“Uh, no…”


“Like I said, you’re an idiot.”


“Yeah, guess I am.”
