Summary: Dee is not enjoying working a double shift.

Dee groaned, throwing himself onto the sofa in the break room. “This is inhuman, workin’ us like dogs all hours of the day and then makin’ us work half the night as well! There’s gotta be a law against it!”


Ryo snorted softly, pouring himself a cup of coffee. Right now he didn’t care what it tasted like, or what it might be doing to his insides, he just needed the caffeine and was too tired to make the trek across the street to fetch something more palatable from the nearest coffee shop.


“You didn’t have to volunteer for overtime; nobody twisted your arm,” he reminded his partner.


“Yeah, but you volunteered; couldn’t let ya go through this hell all alone, there’s no tellin’ who you might’ve been stuck workin’ with! I’d rather be here coverin’ your back than sittin’ home alone, worryin’.”


“You’re all heart.” Ryo grinned at his lover over the rim of his mug before taking a sip and wincing. “The coffee around here just keeps getting worse.” Shoving Dee’s feet off the sofa to make room for himself he sat down. “Just remember we’re getting overtime pay for this.”


“Let’s hope we survive to enjoy it!”

LOL Sorry, boys. In my experience, overtime pay never gets to be enjoyed, but is always needed. There's a reason why we get the hours even if we don't want them -- God knows we need them.

Now Ryo and Dee live together, their money goes a bit further thanks to Ryo's thrifty ways. He's always been good at saving.
