Summary: Jack’s usually happy to eat whatever’s put in front of him, but today’s meal is a bit off a letdown.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.
“Dinner’s ready!” Ianto called to Jack, who’d been pottering around in the garden.
Abandoning his pruning, Jack hurried indoors and went to wash his hands, but when he sat down at the table his face fell.
“What’s this?” he asked, looking at the plate Ianto had set before him, clearly disappointed.
Ianto rolled his eyes. “What does it look like? It’s spaghetti and meatballs. I thought that was one of your favourites.”
“It is, but… It’s Sunday! We always have a roast on Sundays if we’re not working. I’ve been looking forward to my Sunday dinner all week. We can have spaghetti any day.”
“I know, I’m sorry.” Ianto slumped into his chair, shoulders sagging; he hated to see Jack disappointed. “It’s my fault, but the past week’s been so crazy, and then we got home so late last night…” Ianto trailed off with a sigh. “I was going to cook that joint of beef, make Yorkshire puddings and all the trimmings, but I forgot to get it out of the freezer last night and it’s still solid as a rock. It’s going to take hours to defrost. Looks like we’ll have to wait until tomorrow for our Sunday roast.”

Yeah, I was wondering about that. Moving house is a big job anyway, but right now it would be even more complicated. Sit tight if you can, and stay safe *hugs*
