Summary: Ianto isn’t terribly impressed with Jack’s idea of suitable premises.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.
Jack made an extravagant gesture. “So what d’you think?”
Hands jammed in his coat pockets, Ianto just stared. “I’m thrilled beyond belief,” he deadpanned.
“Oh, come on! It’s gonna be great; use your imagination!”
“I am. I’m imaging how much work it’ll take to make it structurally sound before we can even begin the renovations. It’ll take months, if not years!”
The place wasn’t much more than a burned out shell, but Jack had chosen it as the location of Torchwood’s new secondary base, the previous one having been levelled by the bomb implanted in Jack’s stomach when the 456 had shown up a few months back demanding ten percent of the earth’s children.
“It’s in a great location, and you did say we should use an existing building, somewhere a bit rundown.”
“I don’t know that this can be classed as a building; it barely qualifies as existing.”
“What does it take to impress you?”
“Floors and a roof would be a good start.”
Jack huffed annoyance. “So it needs some work; it’s not like we’ll be doing it ourselves. Lizzie has authorised a squad of specialists from the Royal Engineers for that.”
“I’ll reserve judgement until it’s finished.”
