Jack and Ianto had gathered the team together in the boardroom to make their announcement.
 

“We have something to tell you,” Ianto started. “From today, Jack will be stepping back a bit, still running things here at the Hub for the time being, but not going out on field missions.”
 

“But he’s our leader,” Gwen protested.
 

“And I still will be, but…” Jack looked around at his team, smiling. “Ianto and I are having a baby. I’m pregnant!”

 
Owen promptly choked on his coffee, while Gwen’s eyes went comically wide, and her jaw dropped.

 
“You what? You can’t be, you’re a man! Men don’t get pregnant!”
 

“They do in the fifty-first century,” Jack assured her. “A lot can happen in three thousand years. A bit of evolution, a bit of crossbreeding with alien races, a bit of genetic engineering… The future is all about equality. By my time, anyone can have a baby if they want to.”
 

Mickey nodded. “It’s true. I’ve been to the future.”
 

“Well I think it’s wonderful news!” Tosh said, jumping up to hug her friends.
 

Owen groaned, head thumping onto the table.
 

Ianto grinned. “Cheer up, Owen! You’ll be earth’s first expert on male pregnancy!”
