Summary: Buffy is honing her fighting skills.

A/N: Triple drabble.
Who says Buffy’s going to flunk science? This right here is Newton’s third law of motion in graphic detail, according to Willow. Something about opposite reactions.
Buffy punches the vampire, the vampire kicks at Buffy. He’s quite spry considering he only just rose from his grave, must have been quite athletic when he was human. She should probably finish him off quickly, Giles would no doubt tell her that drawing the fight out like this is sloppy and inefficient. Stake and move on, that’s what he’d have her do, like some kind of slaying disassembly line, but that would be boring.
Besides, this is the first time in weeks she’s had the opportunity to hone her fighting skills against a suitable opponent. Giles doesn’t count, she has to hold back to avoid breaking him, and that’s a different kind of opposite reaction entirely. She hits, Giles falls down, or ends up limping for a week, or with his arm in a sling, and aren’t there rules against damaging your Watcher? If there aren’t then there should be; he wouldn’t be much use to her in hospital.
Not that Giles is a wimp, he’s got some moves, he’s just not a Slayer, with the strength, speed, fighting skills, and healing abilities that go with the job, and anyway, she sort of likes him. He was annoyingly stuffy at first but he’s growing on her. Unlike her previous Watcher, he actually seems to care about her as a person, not just as his Slayer, the weapon he wields in the never-ending battle against vampires and demons.
Breaking her Watcher would be bad, but pulverising vampires is her job, and why shouldn’t she enjoy it? A happy Slayer is a productive Slayer.
She kicks the vampire, he goes down. Equal and opposite reaction!
