A/N: Double drabble.
 


 
Ryo’s broken foot was healing, but he’d be stuck with the boot and crutches for another three weeks.

 
Work was okay; Dee was playing chauffer, there was an elevator at the precinct, and Ryo would be on desk duty until he’d completed physio, which wasn’t even set to begin until the boot came off, but he was still experiencing problems.
 

Today had been his check-up at the hospital, so he’d taken the day off work. Dee had offered to take a personal day, but Ryo had refused, insisting that he could manage. He was having second thoughts about that now.

 
He’d booked a taxi to take him to the hospital, but now he had to get home, and instead of waiting for a yellow cab, he’d stupidly decided to take the bus. Now they’d reached his stop and he couldn’t get out of his seat, because his crutches had gotten stuck.
 

Suddenly the driver and half the passengers were rallying around, helping him get his crutches untangled and all but carrying him off the bus. Two elderly ladies even got off with him to help him up the stoop.

 
“Will you be alright now?”
 

Ryo smiled. Strangers could surprise you.
