A/N: Double drabble and a half, 250 words.
 


 
Deja vu. As the blade slashed at Ryo, the memory flashed through his mind of another man armed with a sharp kitchen knife and intent on killing him. That had been in an English country hotel though, several years ago, and at the time he’d been struggling against the effects of the sedatives that had been put in his tea.

 
This time he wasn’t. This time his head was clear, he was in excellent physical condition, and his attacker was at a serious disadvantage, even if he wasn’t aware of that yet. Did he think that a police officer would automatically reach for his gun to defend himself? Was he hoping for death by cop? If so, he was going to be seriously disappointed.

 
Ryo didn’t back away, instead he moved forward, sidestepping the blade, grabbing his attacker’s wrist, and applying pressure. The knife fell from fingers that could no longer grip, even as Ryo twisted to bring the other man’s arm around behind his back, hooking his feet out from under him to bring him crashing to his knees. Forcing him face-down on the ground, Ryo cuffed the man’s wrists behind him as he read him his rights.

 
By the time Dee reached them it was all over.
 

“You okay, bud?”
 

“Fine. You might want to secure his knife as evidence though. I’ve kind of got my hands full.” Ryo got to his feet, hauling his struggling captive upright.

 
“With pleasure.” Dee grinned; the criminal community always underestimated Ryo.
