A/N: Double drabble.
Ianto was pleased with his progress in organising Torchwood’s archives. It was a massive job, mainly because the warren of subterranean rooms had been neglected for decades, but it was also interesting and absorbing.
He’d just finished sorting out one of the small side rooms, which was full of old furniture he thought could be put to better use elsewhere in the Hub. He’d need Jack’s help to move everything to where he wanted it, but it was getting late so that part of the job would have to wait until the following day.
Gathering a couple of dust sheets for washing, he made his way up to the Hub, then paused at the top of the stairs, realising he could hear Owen’s tuneless singing. An idea started to form…
Owen was sitting at his computer, compiling the results of some tests he’d been running. He hadn’t intended to stay so late, but sometimes his research took an interesting turn.
Catching movement from the corner of his eye, he turned, expecting to see Jack. Instead, a ghostly shape lunged at him from the gloom. With a terrified scream, Owen fled, leaving the ‘ghost’ laughing.
Removing the sheet, Ianto grinned. “Gotcha!”
