In Buffy’s opinion, anyone who thinks being the Slayer is some great and wonderful adventure needs their head examining. Slayers are barely one step up from exterminators, and at least exterminators don’t have to worry about the pests they’re exterminating trying to kill and eat them. As far as she’s concerned, they have it easy.

Not that Buffy LIKES bugs and stuff, it’s just that on the whole they’re easier to get rid of than vampires and demons, plus they’re not trying to take over the world and turn humanity into slaves, or not as far as she knows. Well, maybe cockroaches are. She wouldn’t put anything past them.

Still, hearing her mom complain about ants in the kitchen, and that she’ll have to call the exterminator to get rid of them, makes Buffy want to laugh. How much harm can a few ants, or even a lot of ants, cause? Especially in a town where vampires are out every night looking to drain a few innocent people of blood, and maybe turn them into more vampires? Ants might be an annoyance, but they’re not that big a deal. If vamps were ant sized, Buffy’s job would be way easier.

Unless the Vampires had the equivalent strength of ants...

Exactly what I was thinking. I remember learning that ants were immensely strong back when reading the Animorphs. Aren't they, like, 100 times stronger than their size? Now imagine that in the relative context of Vampires...

Yeah! I actually hope I remember this idea in the future... I wonder if there's any more big bangs going on these days??? Especially any that don't require a beta reader...

Looking him up on Netflix now! J and I have enjoyed several good animal documentaries over the years, especially for sealife.
