Summary: Despite knowing that Dee loves him, Ryo still worries.

A/N: Double drabble.
 
 


Somewhere deep down inside, Ryo worries. He knows he shouldn’t, he’s got no reason to, but he can’t help himself, because… Dee is so good looking, so amazing, he could have anyone he wanted, man or woman, and yet he’s with Ryo, who knows he’s nothing special, just an ordinary guy.’

 
What if Dee gets bored with him? What if he’s not enough? What if this is just a fling and once the novelty wears off, Dee realises he’s made a mistake, that he can do better, and dumps him? What if he loses not just his lover, but his work partner and best friend too? Ryo isn’t sure he could survive that, but could they still work together if they split up?
 

Then again, what if none of those things happen? What if Dee really does love him as much as Ryo loves Dee? What if they were to eventually move in together, spend the rest of their lives together? Could they survive being in each other’s company all day, every day, at home as well as at work, or would they drive each other crazy?

 
Ryo can only hope his relationship with Dee is strong enough to last.

I keep meaning to ask you what FAKE is? Every time you post about it I wonder.

It's a Japanese manga about two New York detectives, Dee Laytner and Randy 'Ryo' Maclean (see my icon). They work together and fall in love. I adore the characters, they're my other boys *grins* I've been writing for the fandom for years.

That sounds promising. Is it only in graphic novel form or have they branched out into video form?

There was one OVA which is okay, but subtitled. The manga is better, only 7 volumes, and there are a few later stories I've downloaded from online, although some aren't in translation. Author / artist is Sanami Matoh. She's good.

It's a little dated with certain attitudes, but I still love the characters.
