A/N: Double drabble and a half, 250 words.
It has to be a kind of alchemy, Dee decides, closing his eyes in bliss as he savours the wonderful meal. What other explanation can there possibly be when Ryo can take ingredients Dee has hated since early childhood and turn them into food so astoundingly delicious that he can’t get enough? Who knew the dreaded cabbage could taste like this? Or mushrooms, broccoli, celery, parsnips, and a dozen other disgusting veggies, for that matter.
“Damn, this is incredible! You know I’m gonna get fat if ya keep feedin’ me like this, right?”
And of course, Ryo just laughs. “I only feed you because you keep showing up at mealtimes. I’d have a lot more leftovers if you didn’t; this was supposed to last Bikky and I for two days, so I wouldn’t have to cook from scratch tomorrow.”
Dee immediately feels guilty. “I didn’t know! How come ya never said anything? I could’a picked up takeout or somethin’.”
Ryo shrugs. “You were already here, and it didn’t seem fair to turn you away. It’s not a problem.”
“I’ve been takin’ unfair advantage, sorry. I never even stopped to think, just figured if ya made enough for three, it must be ‘cause ya expected me to eat with ya. In future, maybe I should wait for an invite instead of just showin’ up unannounced.”
“That’s one solution. Or I could start making extra, just in case you show up hungry. I can always freeze anything left over for another day.”
