Summary: Bikky has just found out what he’s being paid by his new team.

“Money isn’t everything, kid,” Dee told Bikky. The boy was bubbling with excitement over the amount he was being paid for signing on with the Clippers. “Don’t let it go to your head.”
 

“I won’t, it’s just…” Bikky shook his head, looking dazed. “It’s more money than I ever imagined having, and this is only the beginning! It’s… it’s CRAZY!”
 

“Pro sports can be a lucrative career.” Ryo checked out his foster son’s bank balance with a proud smile. “Just don’t spend it all at once.”

 
“I won’t, I know I gotta save for the future, so I gotta budget carefully and spend wisely.” He smiled at Ryo. “You taught me that, along with a lot of other things. Really, I wouldn’t be where I am now if it wasn’t for you.”

 
Ryo shook his head. “I didn’t do much. You always had the talent; you just needed a little guidance in setting goals for yourself and figuring out the best way of working towards them.”
 

“And I had no clue about any of that before you took me in. Dee’s right; money’s nice, but it’s not everything. What matters is having someone in my life who believed in me.”

Bikky is turning out to be a wise young man. Considering his parents, this isn't surprising, and I hope he can keep it up. From my watching of various crime shows, I know professional sports presents a lot of temptations and exposure to folks not making good decisions.

Well, parent singular. He and Dee fight practically every time they're in the same room. They're too much alike to ever really get along.

Thanks to Ryo, Bikky has a good head on his shoulders, and he has Carol beside him to keep him in line. She's small but feisty.
