A/N: Double drabble.
The Senior Prom was the biggest social event of the high school calendar, bigger than the Sadie Hawkins dance, bigger than Homecoming, bigger in some ways than Graduation itself. It was a night the graduating class were supposed to remember for the rest of their lives, but so far, for Buffy at least, it was proving memorable for all the wrong reasons.
She’d been dumped by her boyfriend, had to battle hellhounds, and now she would probably be the only girl at the dance with no partner to dance with, sitting off to the side like a wallflower. Yes, it would be memorable alright.
Receiving the Class Protector award had taken some of the sting out of things, but still, seeing so many of her friends and classmates dancing with their dates hurt. Here she was, all pretty, envying practically everyone else in the room for having the one thing she didn’t: someone to share the evening with.
Then she turned and he was there. Angel, looking so handsome, so perfect… He’d come, for her, because he wanted her to have the night she deserved. No words were spoken as he took her in his arms for one last waltz.
The End
