Summary: Another alien ultimatum fails to receive the expected reaction.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.
“Choose fast, humans!” the alien said, audibly gloating even through the translator it wore. “One of you must die as a warning to all the others of what will happen to any who defy the might of the AttriXXi. Which of you will sacrifice yourself to educate your fellow humans on the futility of resistance?”
The eight-foot-tall monster gripped Jack in one of its six arms, and Ianto in another, while two more of its hands gripped nasty looking projectile weapons.
Jack and Ianto looked at each other, unconcerned by the threat; being immortal meant they didn’t have to worry too much about their own safety, something that Ianto was gradually becoming accustomed to, although he still wasn’t quite as blasé about death as Jack was.
“You have thirty of your seconds to decide,” the AttriXXian added.
“Why don’t you just kill us both?” Ianto said mildly.
“Why are you not cowering in fear, each demanding the death of the other to save your own pitiful life?”
“Because we’re not pitiful, and we decided long ago, if we have to die, we’d rather go together.”
“I will kill only one, so the other will suffer!”
“Or we could kill you.”
