A/N: Double drabble.
By the time his ordeal at the Master’s hands was over, and the year had been rewound as if it had never happened, Jack had come to a decision. He no longer wanted to travel through space and time with the Doctor; all he wanted was to go home, back to Cardiff, and try to mend fences with his team.
He knew they’d be angry, he’d left them without a word of explanation, but he hoped they’d forgive him in time. More importantly, he hoped Ianto would, because Jack finally understood how much the young Welshman meant to him, but…
Things went a little awry after he caught up with his team, thanks to John Hart showing up uninvited and unwanted. Even so, Jack managed to get Ianto alone long enough to ask him out on a date. Ianto even said yes, which Jack considered an encouraging sign, it was just that actually GOING on that date was proving a bit difficult.
First, they needed to pick an evening when the chances of their being interrupted by work were acceptably low, but even more importantly, he needed to figure out where to take his lover…
Dates required too many decisions!
