“I’m sorry, Tosh,” Ianto told his friend.
“I don’t have much luck, do I?” Tosh sighed. “I always fall for the wrong people. Treacherous aliens, men from the past, an arrogant ass who barely knows I exist…” She trailed off, giving Ianto a shaky smile. “You’d think I would’ve learned by now, I’m destined to never find love.”
“Don’t talk like that! You’re beautiful, funny, incredibly smart… Anyone who can’t see that doesn’t deserve you. It’s just that we work long hours in this job. It doesn’t allow many opportunities for you to get out there and meet the kind of warm, caring person you deserve to have in your life.” Ianto wrapped his friend in a warm hug. “Somewhere out there is someone who’s perfect for you.”
“I wish I could believe that.”
“You should, because it’s true. Jack and I are going out for drinks and dancing after work. Why not come with us? You’ll never find that special someone locked away in the Hub, staring at your computer screens.”
“I know, but it’s depressing, sitting alone at the bar, being ignored.”
“Then come with us. Once people see you dance, they’ll all want to be your partner.”
