badly_knitted: (Dear Santa)

Hello, and a very happy festive season to all my friends!

It's Christmas day in Britain, and after battling with my camera for ages, I finally managed to get it to work for long enough to take pictures of my boys enjoying their Christmas breakfast (pretzels) and a full turkey dinner. They're going to be stuffed!

Yesterday, I managed to make it down to the post office, braving the cold and the crowds of holiday shoppers (being agoraphobic I don't like crowds), so all the overseas cards went in the post, YAY! If I have your address, there will be a card on its way to you. Whether they will arrive before the 25th is anybody's guess, our postal service is hit or miss and even when they get to the right countries, the cards will have to make their way through another postal service. It's a daunting journey for a humble Christmas card!

I'd appreciate if people would let me know when theirs arrives, that way I'll know how long they took to reach different destinations and I'll have a better idea of when to aim for posting next year. (I'll probably be late again anyway, of course. I'm never prepared for Christmas, lol!)

I also did rather a lot of shopping and spent too much, but food is necessary and we have enough to last for a bit, plus some holiday treats. I found I'd put mince pies on my list twice, so I decided that meant I should buy two kinds. I like my logic =)

I also, for reasons best known to my brain, bought a box of peppermint candy canes. What I intend to do with them I don't know. We're not having decorations so I have nowhere to hang them. Maybe I'll hand them out to visitors. I'm still trying to get rid of the last of the Halloween candy, lol! They looked festive though... I don't get out much, so when I do I'm prone to impulse buying - nothing massive, just silly things that I buy without thinking. I now have a Santa hat... Well, at least it'll keep my head warm!

Now I just need to rest and recover from my adventure. Right now I'm worn out, but at least I got things done.

I hope everyone else is better prepared for the holiday than I am!

Hello again, my wonderful f-list, I come seeking help again!

One of my remaining prompts is 'Compliments' so I'm trying to compile a list of instances during the show (or the radio plays) where Jack and Ianto compliment each other - or even just say something complimentary about each other to the team. So far, most of what I can remember is from Fragments - Love the coat, Love the suit, etc. - and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang - Ianto's 'You're good on roofs' line and saying to the team that Jack is dashing. There must be others, but I can't think and I don't have time to watch two seasons of Torchwood right now, not when I need to keep writing, so I'm hoping some of you might have better memories than I've got and could help me out. *puppy dog eyes* Pretty please?

Does anyone have any ideas? If you can remember the episode as well, that would be even better so I can keep to chronological order.

Thank you in advance =D

badly_knitted: (Hello)

Does anyone happen to know if it's mentioned anywhere in Torchwood or Doctor Who exactly when and/or how Jack came into possession of the Doctor's severed hand?

I've been asked for a drabble on the subject but I don't have time to watch all of Torchwood and the relevant Doctor Who episodes in the hopes of possibly finding something about it.

Help, please? *begs prettily*

Hey, guys! I'm still working through the prompts you gave me before, I have many of them written and there are still some more I'm hoping to write, but I've realised many of those I have left are Christmassy. That's great for December, but there are a lot of months between now and then, so I need more prompts for drabbles I can post throughout the year. You did me proud last time I asked, so I'm asking again:

Prompt me, please!

I might not use all of the prompts I've got, some haven't inspired me (yet) and some of the previous prompts I'm holding back for possible ficlets or one-shots, but keep your eyes open if you left a prompt last time around. I have over 30 finished and waiting their turn to be posted, and some of yours might be among them. I'm making sure I write at least one for everyone who left prompts, so please be patient!

Prompts can literally be anything. A word, a phrase, a picture, a scenario, lyrics, a song title, a book title, an episode title from another show, a request for a sequel or prequel to any of my drabbles, a missing scene from the show or from one of my fics, a joke... I'll try anything. I might not manage something for every prompt but I'll give it my best shot.

Thanks in advance! *grins in anticipation*

Hello, dear F-List, I come seeking help, and hopefully a co-writer if anyone is interested.

I have a fic in mind to write, but it requires a certain amount of medical knowledge (particularly of prosthetics and possibly anti-rejection treatments) that I simply don't have. Nor do I have the skill to research such things.

I have friends I can bounce ideas off, but I need someone who can help write the fic and make any medical stuff at least sound plausible. This is WAY out of my comfort zone - it's a serious Torchwood AU with Ianto having a different reason for needing to get a job with Torchwood Three.

There's no rush to write it, I don't have a deadline except that I'd like to get it written sometime this year. So, anyone care to have a go at writing with me? I've never co-written anything, so I don't know how it works, but I guess we can figure it out as we go if anyone is brave enough, lol!

As some of you may know, at the start of this year I challenged myself to write and post 100 drabbles this year.

I thought that was quite an ambitious goal, but the total currently stands at 167 and I still have three more to post for
tw100's current challenge. That will make 170, and that got me thinking - I'd only need another 30 to reach 200...

Am I crazy? Probably. But still, 30 isn't a lot, could I actually do it? I do have four other drabbles written, so I'd really just need to write another 26... Of course, it would mean I'd have to post two drabbles a day on a couple of days, but I've done that before.

There's just one snag - what do I write? The
tw100
prompts will help, but I can't see me managing another 26 drabbles from those alone, which is where you come in, my dear friends.

I need prompts! It can be just one word, lyrics, a line of dialogue, a scenario, anything at all. If you would like a drabble written for you, just leave a prompt below.

With your help, maybe I really could reach 200!
