A/N: Double drabble.
Ted ground to a halt alongside Dee and Ryo’s desks and stared at his friends in consternation. He would have frowned, only that would have made his already pounding headache ten times worse.
“Man, I must be even more hungover than I thought; I can’t understand a word you guys are sayin’. Maybe I should’a stayed home and called in sick.”
Dee burst out laughing, making Ted wince. “It’s not your hangover; only reason ya can’t understand us is ‘cause we weren’t speakin’ your language.”
Ted did frown then, and instantly regretted it, gritting his teeth against the throbbing behind his eyes. When it subsided a little, he asked, “What d’you mean, not speakin’ my language?”
“Ryo’s teachin’ me Japanese. Figured learnin’ a second language couldn’t hurt, and it’s kinda fun. Still got a long way to go before I’m even close to bein’ fluent, but it means fewer people can listen in on our conversations.”
Sighing, Ted turned towards his own desk. “You guys are weird, and I think maybe I hate you. Hangovers are bad enough without my friends makin’ me think my brain’s slipped a gear.”
“You know the answer to that,” Dee said. “Don’t get hungover.”
