“What is this place?” Donna stared around herself, baffled by the bizarre mix of familiar and totally outlandish.
“The planet Pellaroo, approximately a million years after planet earth’s sun went nova. Marvellous, isn’t it? Earth culture’s undergoing a sort of renaissance, but a lot of history’s been lost in the intervening years so there’s a fair bit of guesswork involved.”
“I’ll say.” Donna’s eyes followed a female alien wearing what looked like a chainmail bustle mini dress and leather chaps. A blue animal resembling a horse trotted by towing a rowboat on wheels.
The Doctor grinned. “At least they’re trying.”
