Spoilers: Serenity.
Summary: Life in Serenity Plaza is proving painfully boring for Ianto.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.
Ianto had thought it might be fun, pretending to be a relatively ordinary young married couple, living in the slightly less ordinary gated community of Serenity Plaza, being all domestic with Jack, and to be fair, there were some very enjoyable aspects to this undercover op. Having time to cook proper meals instead of relying on takeaway, for instance, and spending every night with Jack, sharing a bed, and enjoying all the perks that entailed.
The trouble was, every morning they’d get up, have breakfast together in their modern, state-of-the-art kitchen, then they’d kiss goodbye on the doorstep, like every other couple along the street, and off Jack would go, commuting to work, while Ianto stayed home, a far from ordinary househusband.
That just wasn’t him! There was only so much cleaning, and baking, and gardening he could do before he started going out of his mind with boredom. Smiling politely, he talked with his neighbours over the fence, exchanged recipes and gardening tips, worked on making the front lawn immaculate and perfectly trimmed, while inside he was screaming.
He longed to get back to the daily grind of Torchwood, mucking out the Weevils, making coffee, and doing the filing.
The End
