Summary: Just because River has an alibi doesn’t mean she’s not guilty.

“Wasn’t me, sweetie,” River insists when the Doctor visits her at the Stormcage facility. “I have an ironclad alibi; I was right here in my cell the whole time. Ask anyone. I haven’t gone anywhere in months; they’ve increased security on this level.”

 
The problem is, it’s very likely true, but that doesn’t mean that River wasn’t involved in stealing, or as she would no doubt put it, borrowing, the TARDIS, it just means that from her point if view, it might not have happened yet.

 
Which is unfortunate, because it could mean the Doctor just gave her the idea.
