The best thing about the majority of vamps and demons was that they weren’t terribly smart; that was especially true of the ones that showed up on the Hellmouth from out of town. They arrived talking big, full of plans for taking over, making the town their playground, and… Well, that tended NOT to happen. If they were lucky, they got away with their lives, and if they weren’t, they didn’t get away at all.
Personally, Buffy preferred the latter outcome. The only good demons were the dead one, and the only good vamps, with the exception of Angel, as long as he had his soul, were dust.
Now there was a new Big Bad in town, or that was what HE thought. In Buffy’s opinion, he was neither big nor bad, certainly not by the standards of the previous Big Bads she’d gone up against. He was more a sort of Below Average Bad.
“Well, well, you’re a cute little thing, aren’t you?” Mr Below Average licked his fangs.
“Excuse me?”
“Hate to tell you this, sweet cheeks, but this is NOT your lucky day.”
“You sure about that?” Buffy drew her stake. “Because I’m feeling VERY lucky today.”
