Ryo was fidgeting in the passenger seat as Dee drove them home from a day out.
“You okay, babe?”
“Yes, fine, just…” Ryo trailed off, frowning. “I’ve got this really weird feeling.”
“What sort of feelin’? Aside from it bein’ weird.”
“My back…” Ryo twisted in his seat.
“You pull somethin’?”
“No, it’s not that sort of feeling. It’s more… scratchy.” It had been mildly uncomfortable when they’d first gotten in the car, but now it was growing steadily more annoying. It wasn’t exactly painful, but it was getting harder to ignore.
“Hang in there, babe. I’ll find somewhere we can pull over and investigate.”
“Thanks, Dee. I might lose my mind if I have to put up with this all the way home.”
A few miles down the freeway, Dee pulled into a rest stop. Ryo was out of the car and tugging at his shirt before Dee even put the parking brake on. Shirt out of the way, draped over the open passenger side door, he whipped his t-shirt off over his head, shaking it, scattering bits of something in all directions.
Dee started laughing. “Looks like a leaf got in there. No wonder you were feelin’ uncomfortable!”
