“Dee!” Ryo hissed, glaring at his partner. “I thought we agreed that you’d censor yourself around Bikky! I don’t want him learning bad language!”
“Oops, sorry.” Dee looked appropriately chastened, because he HAD agreed to avoid using certain words around the kid, although as far as he was concerned, it was a bit redundant. He frowned at his lover. “Not sure why it matters though. The house ape knows more swearwords than I do. I heard him cussin’ out another kid last week, and he was usin’ language would make a sailor blush.”
“Are you sure it was Bikky?”
“Yeah, I’m sure. Aren’t two kids around here look like him. It’s not your fault, bud. Kids are like sponges; they soak up everythin’, and Biks grew up on the streets in one of the city’s rougher neighbourhoods. He learned that stuff way before you took over raisin’ him.”
“Well, that’s no reason to encourage him. I’m trying to teach him better.”
“I know, and you’re doin’ a great job. He listens to you. But he’s still gotta fit in with the other kids. You’re not gonna stop him from cussin’, just teach him to not do it in polite company.”
The End
