I know this post was not to me, but I had to tell you Jean, I love your icon! Hysterical!!! In fact I love all the icons you've been uploading to your user-pics. I spy on you and some others with great TW icons. lol!
I just couldn't resist that one when I saw it, it made me laugh so much!
I've been having a massive icon hunt recently, downloaded hundreds, but there's a limit to how many I can use. With the way LJ is messing us about, I'm at the point where if they implement the changes to friends pages and make them compulsory, I'll be going back to an unpaid account there as I'll barely be using it, so it's not worth me getting an icon package there as I was thinking of doing.
Oh no! I'm confused about the changes LJ is making. Can I ask you what will happen to our pages and icons or point me toward a link that explains. I have tried to read some of the ones they send me in my email, but I really don't understand what they are doing and if it is bad I hope it is not permanant. I pay for LJ, if they mess it up for me then I will go back to unpaid account too. I really only do that so I can have extra icons. We don't have much money anyway, so if they mess it up, I won't pay again in the spring.
Oh about your ioons. So cute, I always want to steal some of them. I have so many that I could never upload them all at the same time. Drives me crazy trying to decide what to keep and what to add. I haven't in a while though as you know, I have barely been posting. I am checking my mail, but just felt so bad, no energy to post. I am afraid you will think I don't care anymore. Don't give up on me. I think of you every day and hope you are doing well. I need to push myself now that I am back on some meds. that are starting to help me. I am not too bad at the moment. :)
I read you were having some problems again with heating your house?...I will go read that post again and reply soon. Promise!
I'm not completely sure what's going on with LJ myself. I know they've re-designed the Friends page (which will now be called Feed, which I think is just stupid!), and it will be compulsory for all users, there will be no way to opt out. It will mean that it is white with, I believe, blue lettering, no choice of font style or size, text that means you have to scroll sideways to read it all, all posts will look identical and you won't get to see your Friends Page in your own journal style anymore. There is also going to be conmtinuous scrolling instead of individual pages where you have to click to the next page, although they are now saying you will be able to turn that option off and just have pages. that's a relief as continuous scrolling takes forever to load, uses a lot of bandwidth and crashes people's browsers. Or so I've been told. I sort of understand, but the most important thing to know is that continuouis scrolling is a Very Bad Thing that no one wants.
There were also rumours that they were doing away with paid accounts, but that's apparently not what they meant. Here's what they say (though I'm not sure I can believe anything they say any more): Re paid/permanent accounts: ....no accounts will be canceled or revoked, no already- purchased paid time or paid features will be lost or anything like that. What is happening, is that we will be making some changes to the existing account structure next year. That is what these comments were referring to. This will involve changing things so users have a standard LiveJournal account to which they then can add the paid/extra features that they want separately (or feature packages/sets). The concept of buying something that's called a "paid account" is what will be removed -- extra features will be done as add-ons and add-on packages. Existing paid or permanent accounts at that time will be treated as premium/elite accounts that will have access to even more features than exist right now.
LOL! I just found this one recently and I couldn't resist it - there's only one person who benefits from the situation, it's not surprising Ianto looks so smug!

I thought that was already how it was done...
