Summary: Dee and Ryo have had one hell of a day.

It had been one of those frustratingly annoying days all New York cops had to deal with at times; bad weather, a particularly gruesome murder scene, non-existent leads, and long hours of fruitless canvassing for witnesses. Then right in the middle of getting the new investigation underway, they’d had to leave off when a lead on another case fell into their laps, resulting in most of the rest of the workday being spent tracking down, chasing, and eventually apprehending a suspect.


That ended up being nowhere near as easy as it sounded on paper; the bastard was quick on his feet, and had no intention of coming quietly. They got him, but even then, he twisted and struggled so much as they tried to get him into the car that Dee and Ryo banged heads painfully with each other, leaving them both sore and slightly dazed.


It was a relief to just ditch the guy in lockup overnight, cooling his heels, and drag themselves wearily back home, arriving late and too tired to do much of anything. Grabbing a bite to eat, they left the dishes unwashed and tumbled into bed without bothering to shower. All they wanted was sleep.
