The last charms have arrived, so I've been a busy bee. Have a picture...

Charms 3

Here we have Witch Heads, two kinds of Witches on Broomsticks, two kinds of Halloween Cats, and two kinds of creepy Spiders.

Anyone who wants one, be sure to comment and let me know which you'd like, either from this set or from the previous two sets. Follow the handy links below to look at pictures.

Halloween Charms Set Two

Don't forget to PM your address if I don't already have it.

Here's the second set of charms for Halloween. Hopefully there will be a third set, I want some more witch charms because the ones I've got are really tiny. I made another 2 dozen todat, so I have four of each design. If any of my friends want one, let me know which and if I don't already have your address, PM me. I have a few more of each charm and I'll post another picture when I get the other charms I want - witches, cats, possibly some of those eight legged arachnids too. (I won't use the S word *wink*). I'm having too much fun to stop now!

Charms 2

Still can't decide whether to try making a pumpkin Jack O' Lantern...

I've been working on this for a couple of weeks, charting the design before stitching it, and I'm rather pleased with the result. The coffee cup motif is from Cross Stitcher Issue 262 and the main alphabet is from Issue 265. I designed the border myself. I plan to stitch it again, but with a wider border to fit in a frame I bought.

Here's the completed stitching...

Ianto Reverse

Reverse View - I'm pleased with how tidy it is.

Ianto Complete

And here's the finished product. I was going to fringe the edges, but that just didn't seem right for Ianto. He's always so precise and neat, so I left it.

It was supposed to be stitched on 18 count, but I think I ended up using 16 count by accident, lol!

Here it is, my completed Valentine's card! I think it turned out quite good, despite some slightly wonky lettering!

Despite my doubts, I have successfully finished mum's birthday card - with a few days to spare (just as well, as I seem to be getting a migraine!). Next task will be a Valentine card and I haven't even chosen a design yet =S

Here's the stitched piece for mum's card....

And here's the completed card....

Mum Card 2013

I'm very pleased with the result!

As some of you already know, I decided to make my Christmas cards this year - nothing too elaborate, just die-cut shapes stuck on cards with a few embellishments, but I'm quite pleased with the results.

Here's what I've made so far....

Photos under here... )If anyone would like a card from me this year, PM me your address (and if a particular card takes your fancy, comment below and I'll try to make sure you get it - first come, first served. I've labelled the rows or columns A, B & C to make it easier, so, for example, you could ask for Penguins set 2, 2nd card in column C, or C2) I still have lots more to make - the next ones are planned out and just need glueing, I'm a busy girl!

Mum helpfully informed me this morning (the day AFTER I'd been to the shops) that it's my Uncle's birthday in a couple of days - and of course, I didn't have a suitable card.

So, out came the craft bits and pieces and I quickly made one. Not very manly, granted, but I'm still pleased with how it turned out since it was such a rush job.

See it here... )

Elephant Santas in Cross Stitch

I finally got around to taking photographs, so hopefully, here are the other three Tartan Santa designs from the set of six I stitched. As with the first set, these are stitched with one strand of thread on 18 count aida.

After more than 18 months, I'm finally cross stitching again, it's such a pleasure to make something! Thought I'd share the finished results here - it will be nice to have a permanent record of what I've stitched as these are all destined to become birthday and Christmas cards.

See the pretties... )

Last week I found a great place online selling genuine crystal and gemstone beads, both chip beads and round ones, so I bought a few kinds. They're gorgeous!

I'm going to make some gemstone earrings, but most of my supplies are in storage so I've had to buy some more. I'd like to make some elasticated gemstone bracelets too - as well as re-stringing several of mine where the elastic has gone limp - so I'll need to get beading elastic. I still have my beading needles, thankfully they didn't get packed for storage, so I can get started as soon as the earring findings arrive.

I'm excited about getting back to jewellery making - I used to make earrings a lot, just dangly costume jewellery bead ones (I still have several hundred pairs!), but these will be the first gemstone ones! Hopefully I'll be posting photos of them when they're done!

Now if I can just get rid of this migraine....

Because the wonderful [personal profile] rift_bound  was interested, I'm posting a couple of pictures of one of my other craft endeavours - I call them Wols (short for wool owls).

Here Be Wols... )

Well, it will be knitting pictures (I hope) if I can figure out how to insert images! Wish me luck!

I'm A Knit!

Been relaxing, watching the new series of Primeval (which is pretty good so far, although I've taken an instant dislike to Philip!) - I thought it had been canceled after the last series, so it was a nice surprise to find I was wrong!

While I watched, I knitted - not the red jumper I started last year (which I've only done the front and half a sleeve of - I will get back to that one day), but something else I'd forgotten I'd started.

I knew I had a black lacy jumper I was working on, but I've lost the pattern for that and it's a complicated design. In clearing the box room where I store all my wool, I've discovered several other part done projects - a pink baby jumper, which just needs making up, a white sleeveless  top, and the one I've been knitting tonight - I'm assuming it's going to be a jumper, though I have no idea what pattern I was using, but it's stocking stitch and only just started, so I should easily be able to find a pattern to work from. The downside is, I only have the ball of wool I'm using, I haven't found the rest yet! It's fluffy and white, with fluffy blobs of black and grey in it. So far, it looks like I'm trying to knit a slightly lumpy dalmatian. Should be interesting when it's done, assuming I can find the rest of the wool. I don't remember packing it for storage, so in theory it should still be in the box room. Maybe it'll turn up tomorrow!
