Some things were made even better by anticipation. Knowing he would get to indulge later on was already making Dee’s mouth water, and he watched Ryo like a hawk, following his lover’s every move.
 

He’d never met anyone who commanded his attention to the extent Ryo did. Every move his lover made was so precise, whether he was writing by hand, typing on his computer, shooting at paper targets, cleaning and reloading his gun, doing Tai Chi or karate, driving… It didn’t matter, observing him was always a delight, and Dee doubted he’d ever get tired of it.
 

“I can feel you watching me,” Ryo said without turning.

 
“You’re worth watchin’. Seriously, I could watch ya all day long.”
 

“Sometimes I think you do.”
 

“Only when I can get away with it. Which I can, since I’m under doctor’s orders to rest.”
 

“I think the doctor meant you should be in bed, or at least on the sofa, not sitting at the kitchen table.”
 

“Yeah, but then you’d be too far away for me to watch.”
 

“I know why you’re really sitting there. You’re hoping to sneak a cookie when I take them out of the oven.”
 

Dee grinned. “Busted.”
