Jan. 27th, 2026 05:54 pmTitle: In The Cracks
Author:
Characters: Fifteenth Doctor, Ruby.
Rating: G
Written For: Challenge 995: ‘Interstitial’ at
Spoilers: Nada.
Summary: Strange creatures are creeping around inside the TARDIS.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Doctor Who, or the characters.
They’re everywhere Ruby looks, curious creatures like neon-bright, three-inch-long slugs with feathery antennae at front and rear, although which is which is anyone’s guess since they seem able to move in one direction as easily as the other. They also keep appearing and disappearing at random.
“They’re an interstitial lifeform,” the Doctor explains, crouching to study a glowing orange slug as it emerges seemingly from nowhere. “They live in the cracks of the universe, all the tiny gaps that are of no use to anyone else. This is one of the few places they can be seen. Aren’t they amazing?”
