A/N: Double drabble.
Dee set his lighter to the last candle, holding it there until the flame caught on the wick, dancing there, another bright glow in the otherwise dark apartment. The snowstorm had knocked the power out, but hopefully with the blinds lowered and heavy drapes drawn over the windows, it would stay comfortably warm until the electricity came back on.
It was a shame that they wouldn’t be able to cook, or even heat water for tea or coffee. Times like this, Dee wished the apartment wasn’t all electric, but sometimes you just had to deal. This wasn’t the first time they’d lost power, and it wouldn’t be the last. At least he and Ryo could fix themselves a sandwich, and wrap themselves in the duvet to keep warm and cosy.
Then Ryo came back from the kitchen, bearing two steaming mugs. Dee stared at them in disbelief.
“How the hell’d you manage to make a hot drink with the power out?”
Ryo grinned. “Camping stove, of course. I’ve got soup heating over it now. Figured we could do with something hot after being out in the blizzard, especially since we can’t take a hot shower to warm up.”
“You’re amazin’!”
