“Be careful of that spindle,” the Doctor warned Clara. “You wouldn’t want to prick yourself on that, it could be nasty.”
Clara drew her hand back. “Why, would it put me to sleep or something?”
The Doctor turned with a puzzled frown. “Why would it do that?”
“Well, you know, Sleeping Beauty?”
“That’s just a fairytale; spindles don’t actually do that. Well, not unless they’ve been dipped in something.”
“So why do I need to be careful then?”
“Because it’s sharp, it will hurt, and then there’ll be blood everywhere, which is messy and generally not a good idea.”
“Oh.”

Clara drew her hand back. “Why, would it put me to sleep or something?”
