A/N: Double drabble.
Dee had spent his adult years as a dedicated carnivore, sure that a meal could not be considered a meal unless it included some kind of meat. He liked steak, and beef, and bacon, and sausages, and ham… Chicken and turkey were also acceptable, but red meat was better. Red meat was Man Food. He knew what he liked, so that was what he ate.
Then Ryo had come into his life, and Ryo liked meat too, but he also liked veggies, and fruit, and when he baked the results were sublime, heaven on a plate! Actually, that was true of EVERYTHING Ryo cooked. Dinner at his partner’s apartment was so much better than takeout, or microwaved TV dinners, or even most of what Dee would order at a restaurant, when he was feeling extravagant and had enough money in the bank to afford eating out somewhere halfway decent.
Ryo didn’t always cook meat though. Sometimes he would make a vegetable lasagne, or some other completely meat free dish, and although the idea had shocked Dee at first, he’d soon discovered that the lack of meat wasn’t so terrible after all. Maybe it was time he accepted being an omnivore.
The End
