Double Drabble: Tackling Crime
Feb. 21st, 2026 05:02 pmTitle: Tackling Crime
Author:
Characters: Ianto.
Rating: PG
Written For: Challenge 905: Tackle, at
Spoilers: Nada.
Summary: It’s not Ianto’s job, but that doesn’t matter.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.
Technically, this wasn’t Ianto’s job. He was Torchwood, and as such, the only things he was supposed to deal with were aliens and anything alien-related, such as whatever had fallen through the Rift. Things from other planets and other times, especially anything technological, couldn’t be allowed to fall into the wrong hands; it could seriously upset timelines if something got ‘invented’ or discovered before it was supposed to.
Nevertheless, being a Torchwood agent made him feel responsible for the safety of Cardiff’s citizens. He wasn’t about to let some innocent person suffer just because the situation didn’t fall under his job description, and in the absence of the police, that didn’t leave him much choice. He could phone the Heddlu and report the crime, or…
Dropping his shopping bag, he took off after the purse-snatcher, swifter on his feet despite his smart suit and shiny dress shoes, than the rough-looking youth in jeans and sneakers. He closed the gap between himself and his quarry as if he was going after a Weevil, an impressive flying tackle bringing the thief to the ground.
People started cheering as he returned the purse to its owner and retrieved his shopping.
Ianto simply smiled.
The End
