Summary: The Doctor isn’t the only one whose appearance changes.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Doctor Who, or the characters.
Every time the Doctor regenerates, the TARDIS does the same, reimagining her interior, the intention being to fit the Doctor’s new incarnation more comfortably, to mirror, in a way, his new persona. It’s almost as if a design team takes charge and carries out a full remodel.
About the only things that don’t change are her exterior, and the time rotor itself, because there are only so many possibilities for the appearance of such a crucial piece of technology. They don’t vary by much.
So much unfamiliarity can be disconcerting, but there’s something to be said for starting over together.
