“You’ll love this, Ianto! Babninnoopsh has the universe’s only zero-g ballroom, in a gigantic glass dome, with the stars all around. It’s magnificent! We can trip the light fantastic all night long without our feet getting tired. People come from all over the cosmos to enjoy the dancing and the other zero-g entertainments.” Jack winked.
“Dancing with no gravity sounds like a recipe for disaster. Don’t people go flying across the dome bumping into each other and bouncing off the walls? What if the glass breaks?”
“It can’t, there are triple forcefields, both inside and outside the glass, which is six-inches thick, tempered and reinforced, harder than diamonds. As for the rest, yes, sometimes dancers do collide, but it’s a great way to meet interesting people. I went there five times, back when I was with the Time Agency. Met some wonderful people each time. Spent many memorable hours with them in the private zero-g suites.”
“I’ll bet you did.”
“Come on, Ianto, don’t be like that! It’ll be fun, I promise. We might not get out this way again for years, not without making a special trip.”
Ianto sighed, giving in to the inevitable. “Fine.”
“You won’t regret it!”
