Cross Stitch Elves & Fairies

I started stitching these a few years back and recently discovered them again - five were complete, one only needed a bit of back stitch, and the last two hadn't been started, so I thought I'd better finish the set before I got on with anything new. I stitched them on 18 count fabric, instead of the recommended 14 count, which proved really fiddly, but I think the end result makes them worth the effort, eye strain, and headaches... Doubt I'll stitch them again though. @_@

Thank you! I'm quite pleased with the way they turned out.

I'm back working on the blackwork set again now, nearly finished the second one and I've go two more to do. I'll try to post pictures when they're finished.

Have you done any more on your bookmark?

The blackwork is coming on nicely, despite me accidentally getting the fabric back to front after I'd stitched the border and starting to work on the wrong side... Oops! I had to unpick...

I do like to see what crafty things other people are doing. I'm going to try to make posts of all the cross stitch I complete, but I can never spend as much time stitching as I'd like to.

I used to do cross-stitching when I was fourteen. :) I was never very good at it; I couldn't do the actual cloth without messing it up. I pretty much kept to the plastic starter kits.

You might find you enjoy it now. I've recently restarted after a very long time.

Last year, I actually was given a lot of threads and cloth, and I thought I might start up again. But I don't have it anymore; it took up some space that I couldn't really spare. I'm not sure I'd be able to get anything done, if I'd kept it, though; I just got two kittens, and they think everything is a toy, lol. :)

It's a fiddly hobby, but I lie it. Never could do the other kind of embroidery though. I messed up the fabric every time I tried. *grins*
