A/N: Double drabble.




Being wholly responsible for the wellbeing of a young child was a huge responsibility. Within days of taking Bikky in, Ryo started to wonder if he’d bitten off more than he could chew. He worked full time at a demanding job, but he also needed to be home as much as possible for his foster son.


At ten years old Bikky wasn’t helpless, he could fix himself a snack if he was hungry, and could entertain himself, but he was also a budding juvenile delinquent thanks to his late father, who’d been a criminal himself. The boy hadn’t been blessed with good role models growing up, so Ryo would have to teach Bikky right from wrong, as well as making sure he did all his homework and didn’t skip school.


Ryo slumped onto the sofa with a weary sigh; how was he supposed to do all of that when he was at work all day?


“Ryo? Is everything okay?” The boy in question was frowning worriedly up at him.


“Everything’s fine, Biks, I’m just tired; it’s been a long day.” Ryo smiled reassuringly. He didn’t know how yet, but somehow he was going to make this work, for Bikky’s sake.
