Summary: Ryo can’t ignore Diana’s advice, not now he realises how badly he’s been treating Dee.

Ryo couldn’t get Diana’s words out of his head. Maybe he didn’t want to; she was his friend and the advice she’d given him was good, sensible, right… Which was probably why it made him feel so awful.


Before their conversation, it had been easy to push thoughts of how unfairly he was treating Dee to the back of his mind, easy to ignore them they way he had, through long practice, learned to ignore the unwelcome feelings of attraction he’d experienced towards men.


But now Diana had brought everything out into the open and Ryo was… ashamed. Dee loved him, had been unwavering in his declarations for so long, even though Ryo had kept pushing him away.


‘How do I really feel about Dee? He’s by partner, my best friend, and when he kisses me, it feels right, so why haven’t I let him all the way in? Is it that I’m genuinely not sure what I want or is it just that I’m scared and don’t want to accept that I’m gay? Diana’s right; I’m not a kid anymore, it’s time I stopped hiding from myself, because if I keep stringing Dee along I might lose him forever.’

Thank you for this insight into Ryo, and quite possibly my Jordan. The reasons he ran from me back in September were totally different, but it still helps perspective on that old issue.
