Fic Of The Week - Week Four

Well here we are, week four, and I'm still managing to keep up. This may be the longest I've ever managed to stick to a New Year Resolution!

Last week's fic, Jack and the Beanstalk, was brilliant, a great re-telling of the old Fairy Tale. I wanted something completely different for this week though, so after a bit of hunting I came across this one from 2009:

It's another short one, only 7 chapters, but it looks like it should be fun. The moment I came across it, I couldn't resist - and that was just from reading the first sentence!

Any recommendations for fics I could include in my challenge will be welcomed - nothing longer than 20 chapters though, please. I do have other things I need to do during the week; sad to say I can't spend all my time reading fanfic, much as I would like to!

Only, I followed the link and could only find two chapters. *pout* I've gone through the master list and didn't see any others, although I may well have missed them. Let me know if you find anything? I really want to finish this now! :)

Rest assured, anything I pick as fic of the week will always be complete with all parts readily accessible. If people can't find chapters, I'll provide links. After all, I need to find the chapters in order to read them myself, it's not much effort to copy the links if people get stuck =)

I've only read the first two chapters so far - it's a good thing I have all week! Loving it so far, as I expected, the dialogue is really good.

I have other things to keep up with reading though, and I'm trying to read a few older one-shots as well, so I have to just stick to a chapter or two a night in order to fit everything in. Right now I'm so tired I could just nod off! Early night for me, I think. I need to keep my brain fresh for reading =)

Short fics are easier for me to read too, guess that's why I'm challenging myself to read a series a week (though I'm still picking short ones). It's the only way for me to get to some of the seies that have been piling up which I really want to read but never seem to find time for.

This one has fluff, humour, some angst, and smut involving chocolate ice cream! Oh, and IKEA =)

I think you'll like it when you get time to read. One chapter a day is like just reading a short story a day, none of the chapters are long.

IKEA is a furniture store that sells Swedish furniture - there are stores throughout Britain, but I don't know if there are stores in America. You can get everything for the home under one roof, from beds, sofas, office furniture, right down to cutlery and plates. Jack and Ianto go shopping there in several fics by different authors. It's got to the point where I can't look at the IKEA catalogue without thinking smutty Janto thoughts! 0_0

We have a store kind of like that, but not sure they sell furniture. "Bath and Beds" I think it is called. Not been there in awhile, in too much debt and Michael's high price "toys" computer and smart cell phones don't help.

The recession doesn't help, either. The best a lot of people can hope for is to pay the bills and put food on the table. We're surviving on mum's pension and my benefits, but it makes it difficult saving for the work we still need doing on the house.

I know...the economy is so bad here too and Prsident Obama-dumb@#@! isn't helping!...just my opinion. Not sure about the Republican running against him this year and it just sucks! We live off government money, I think I old you, can't see my post before this and too little time to go back and re-read it....and we are in debt up to our eye-balls. I think I told you why. You can ask me, I have to go now. Must get ready to go to my parent's house with Alex for our usual Saturday night visit. :)

Oh I feel stupid...I think the store is called Bath and "bedding"...or Bath & beyond...I should look it up!
If they had beds that would be "furniture" too, I think?... which they don't have... I'm pretty sure. OH! I don't know?!!! lol!

Not been there in a long time. I think we bought a toaster there onces....

Never try to ask directions from me. I KNOW my right from my left, until I try to give someone directions, then I get completely mixed up, lol!

...that is strange, I'm a pessimiss generally *grins* I admire Ianto's humor...want to be just like him! I don't do slap-stick humor well though I have laughed at my little boy's antics....I'm blabbering again....

I'm an optimist mostly with a sideline in pessimism. I like making people laugh, though it's usually by accident. I seem to be quite good at writing funny stuff though, if the comments I've had on my fics are anything to go by. I don't find British comedians these days at all funny though.

Oh I have that kind of humour. The first time I realized I could make people laugh was when I was working a job. We were all pulling orders from the files and I was just listening while others were talking (I am shy, believe it or not) and I just said something and they all start laughing. I was totally oblivious as to why they are laughing. They said shy little Deb said that?!

After that I just love it when it happens. Sometimes I'm aware that what I will say will work, sometimes it's an accident, or sometime it just doesn't work....you can't win them all. lol!

I wish we could edit these like we can on LJ. I said "are" when I meant "were" was re-writing the sentence and missed that....and I missed a comma. lol! Just didn't want to appear as dumb as I feel sometimes....why did I write this post?
