Summary: Buffy sees something she really wishes she hadn’t

A/N: Double drabble.
 
 

A cold chill went through Buffy, making her shiver despite the warmth of the California night. She hadn’t meant to spy on Angel, hadn’t expected to see him out here tonight, didn’t exactly expect to see him any night, although she was usually glad when she did. Not this time though. He wasn’t alone.
 

The girl was slender, pale, pretty, with long, dark hair, and wearing a long gown, the sort of woman Angel had probably known back when he’d been human. Angel obviously knew her. The way they stood so close, the way she touched him, the way she kissed him… At least, from where Buffy was standing, it looked like they kissed. Buffy had thought she and Angel had something, or at least the beginnings of something, but if he was out here kissing other girls, maybe she’d been wrong.

 
It sucked. The mature thing to do would be to ask Angel about it, straight out, no beating around the bushes, just say, “Hey, I saw you last night. Who was that girl you were with? But no, asking would get her an answer, and Buffy wasn’t sure she was prepared for that. She might not like it.

She should have asked, properly, instead of a round about, "What did you do last night?" because Angel lied and said he was at home, reading. The 'girl' was Drusilla, one of the vampires Angel sired when he was the evil Angelus. Buffy needed to know trouble had come to town.
