The expression on Rhi’s face was priceless; Ianto thought it was almost worth the pain and indignity he was suffering just to see his sister struck speechless. She opened and closed her mouth a couple of times before she managed to find her voice.
 

“What on earth happened to you? Were you saving the world again, fighting off alien monsters, one of those things with all the teeth? What’re they called again?”

 
“Weevils, and no, nothing so glamorous as that.” Ianto peered at his sister through his one good eye; the other was black and blue, almost swollen shut, and the bruising extended across his cheek.

 
“Don’t even try telling me you walked into a doorknob or something. Did somebody hit you?”
 

“If by ‘somebody’ you mean Jack, then no, you know he’d never do that, but I was hit...”
 

Rhi didn’t let him finish. “Are you pressing charges? Because you should.”
 

“No, because it was an accident.”
 

“Are you sure?”
 

“Positive.”
 

“So what happened?”
 

“You never warned me being a parent was so dangerous. Meriel got a bit overexcited and clonked me in the eye with her rattle. She’s a lot stronger than she looks.”

 
Rhi winced. “Ouch!”

 
“Yeah.”
