Here we are again, another Monday and another fic rec.

This one's from April 2010 and is deceptively short, only 5 chapters, but they're quite long chapters. 

Condition of Release is by the amazing sam_storyteller, and is a very different take on the episode Cyberwoman and its aftermath. Poor Ianto goes through a lot, but he'll be okay in the end, I promise. It's rated PG-13 until the last chapter, when it goes up to R for some smuttiness ;)

Summary: Jack has studied the Cybermen for forty years, and he's damned if he'll let one take any of his people away from him without a fight.

Author's Notes: This was inspired by Tomb Of The Cybermen and The Invasion, two Classic Who episodes which indicate that Cybermen have the power to control human minds. The mythology of the Cybermen is complicated and contradictory, but a remarkable constant remains their desire, their need, for a human collaborator to ready the way for them.
