A/N: Double drabble.
Jack had long since grown used to denying himself comfort. He’d lived through wartime, not just on earth but on other planets, had served as a soldier in the trenches during WWII, where comfort was a distant memory, had been locked away in cells and tortured until he’d come to accept pain and discomfort as his lot in life.
It had seemed sensible not to let himself get accustomed to easy living, because Torchwood wasn’t for the weak; it was a hard job, and harder still for the one in charge. So he’d lived in sparsely furnished bedsits for the most part, until he’d been unceremoniously thrust into leadership, at which point he’d moved his few belongings to the cramped bunker beneath his office and made his home there, sleeping on a hard, narrow army cot.
Then Ianto Jones had come into his life, with his immaculate suits, Welsh vowels, heavenly coffee, and a modest flat dominated by a big, soft, king-sized bed. Jack had discovered that the first time Ianto had invited him to spend the night
After several such nights in the luxury of that bed, Jack knew if he had his way, he’d never sleep anywhere else.
